This is an old page (1999?) and many things changed since then. Many servers died, many pages are lost -- and many new pages and directories were made. Yes, I started my webbing to organized my classes at UAF and, of course, I didn't think about you, the cyber-folks, who are the main readers now. Maybe I would build everything diffrent, if I knew, how many will read... Now I can only adjust the old structure, according to the "open text" principles, but, I guess, it must somebody else, who can reorganize the whole "thing" in order to make it "user-oriented"...

Why do I write about it? Because I do not know, how to update this page.

If you are a webmaster, you know that every new page becomes old on the day you build it. I tried it all -- "updates" and "new" pages... but they too follow the same law of aging and I have to create "new NEW" pages!

[ 2007 updates? ]

Hi, I am Anatoly Antohin, your professor. And, if you are in my class, this is YOUR support page.

How to use this website

Each class has its own page with dates and assignments. This page is to assist you with the homework and navigation of this site.

The whole EDUCATIONAL section of this website was created for that purpose, but you need some practice to learn how to make the most out of it. There are three major fields under "TEACHING": Acting, Directing, Analysis. You're welcome to explore it all, but if you are in the acting class, follow the ACTING trajectory (Your Class Page). For instance, you're working on your monologue: check pages -- Monologue I & II (updated @ new site eTheatre).

Monologue and Mono 2

You'll see Floor Plan diagrams and, if you want to know more about it, cross the line into Directing Classes.
If you feel that you need more info on Dramatic Structure of your monologue, go for D-Composition (Exposition) or other pages outside of Acting One class.

Spend some time around the pages you need: your class-page, glossary, samples & tests. Send me email, I will put you in your class bulk-mailing list (required). Bookmark the site (point-page) and/or print out the pages you should have on-hand (glossary, for instance). [In case you have problems with the server or your computer].

If you're new to on-line existence, get used to it. Computer is your car of the next century. Get in, we'll learn more about it together.

The Big Theatre Website directory is usually on the right. The smaller directories are for the subjects. Also, you can follow the links to the Outside Big World; I try not to duplicate what already exists on the Internet. There is more information out there than you can process! (I don't have time to collect the links, hoping that this section of each page will be built with time).

There are two ways for me to know that you are using the web: the counter at the bottom of each page and your email. If you don't have any access to any computer at all, go to the library and check the Master-File for your class on reserve; I made a print-out of the site.

Remember, the web is not a substitution for your textbooks and lectures! It's an addition!
