With my involvement into Virtual Theatre I have no time for the Club and the Festival. We still do the screening and award student-filmmakers at the end of the year. If you want to stay in contact, subscribe to Directors' Forum or Virtual Theatre List, which I am using for film classes. VTheatre development began with the workshop of "3 Sisters" with the Advance Acting and Directing Classes in the Spring of 1999. In the Fall we had our first webcast of the show. FILM CLUB NEXT SEASON IS OPEN!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Summer 1998)
UAFilm, a world Northernmost film club, is ready to start its second season. As part of our summer program, the club will conduct a film class for the Fine Arts Camp, demonstrating all aspects of cinema and film-making! Professor Anatoly Antohin, student Club President Kyle Erck and Vice-president Sean Bledsow will conduct afternoon sessions in the Media Studio (Impact in the Library).
We watch movies, talk about films and make videos.
If you missed the First UAF Film Festival in February, get ready for the Second Festival in the Spring of 1999. Make your movie and submit for a tough competition. Do you have a video-camera? Borrow from a friend. Do you have a movie idea? Borrow from us! Have questions? Call or write to us. Do you want to be a club member? sign up. If you love movies and people, volunteer for a position on a film crew. Don’t know how to shoot? Hang around FC and learn. If you don’t have time, we need you. Being busy is a first step in film-making!
Do you act? Write? Breath? Can you hold a camera? Here is your chance to break into show business!
