Pygmalion 200... (never?) :...The statue of Pygmalion comes to life...
Pygmalion is the king of Cyprus who fell in love with a statue of his own making, kissed the ivory statue and thought the kisses were returned. He talked to it with words of love and brought to it the kind of gifts that are thought to please girls, such as shells and pebbles, little birds and flowers of all colors. Besides all this he also draped it with robes, put rings upon its fingers and a necklace around her neck. And by night Pygmalion put the statue on a bed, called it the consort of his bed and rested its head upon soft pillows.
So when the time came for the festival of Aphrodite to be celebrated, Pygmalion visited it and prayed to the goddess to have as wife one like his ivory maid. Aphrodite understood he did not mean one like his ivory maid but the ivory maid itself. So when Pygmalion returned home and kissed his ivory statue he discovered it was warm as he was kissing not ivory but flesh.
Pygmalion married she who had been a statue and Aphrodite, who had given life to it came to the wedding. Pygmalion was given a long life. According to some their daughter Paphos was mother of King Cinyras of Cyprus and sometimes it is said that Cinyras married Metharme and that one of their children was Adonis. Cinyras promised to send fifty ships against Troy but sent only one.
Galatea , in Greek mythology. 1. Sea nymph, daughter of Nereus and Doris. She was loved by the brutish Polyphemus, a Cyclops who wooed her with love songs; but Galatea loved Acis, the handsome son of a river nymph. When Polyphemus discovered them together, he crushed the youth under a huge boulder. In response to his pitiful cries, Galatea turned Acis into a river.
In Greek mythology, king of Cyprus. He fell in love with a beautiful statue of a woman. When he prayed to Aphrodite for a wife like it, the goddess brought the statue to life and Pygmalion married her. In one version of the legend, the statue becomes Aphrodite; another states that Pygmalion sculptured the statue himself and that after coming to life it was called Galatea.

Ideas -- Angels, Clons, Meeting... I don't link the pages with my notes for new plays.
Tripod doesn't have multi-level directories and to use it for the plays-in-progess is difficult. I will create "PLAYS" directory at GeoAlaska (Virtual Theatre Plays).
Web-writing "projects" are born as hypertexts and stay this way (see Virtual Theatre Files). In my "visions" (in the future) writing will become performance (and directing as well); i.e. ONE-MAN-SHOW. The sound and graphic files are already a part of pre-production for the shows I direct (see Don Juan 2003). Some elements will make it to the live main-stage shows, some -- won't. I am designing the set for Moliere; before I had to commucate my images for show -- why not to do it yourself?
Acting too?
If you write plays, you know the answer -- yes.
I thought that I could have the time for Hamlet2002 (on the right), the web-based-show, but instead I am writing about the theory of Virtual Theatre (VT) -- and under the title "The Book of Spectator" (right table).
Don Juan 2003
WRITE directory
* GODOT.06: Doing Beckett => main stage Theatre UAF Spring 2006 *Let me repeat myself (from Film600 and script.vtheatre.net):
Where teaching and studying (research) meet --
Theme-thought, according to different playwrights (Shakespeare, Ibsen, Strindberg, Chekhov and so on) and directors (Fillini, Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, Bergman pages).
Connections with other themes (list): family, gender and sex...
Finally, my own practical investigations: shows.vtheatre.net (only recently I began to make themes pages, Don Juan 2003, for example).
And the nonfiction (writing), of course: HIM, Father-Russia, PostAmeriKa, Self, POV, Tech (gatepages are in WRITE directory).
Yeah, yeah, there is more -- "philo" pages, metaphysics: in theatre theory directory, for instance (topics-bar: space, time and etc.)
Plus, Virtual Theatre and Book of Spectator!Web? Oh, this is just medium. Like stage, screen, writing...
