See The Importance of Being Earnest online (several selected scenes and monologues are recommended).

Compare Algernon[1] (beginning) with Algernon[3] (end) -- how different is his mode, mood? Where did it change (climax)? What is the reason for speaking? What is the action? Does he want to show his superiority to Jack (constant competition between the two)? Resolution? He wasn't invited to dine with Jack; he invited himself (action).

Use of prop? Use of costume? Motion? How to express the climax (vertical, horizontal movement) and etc.

MASTER: Anatoly! I never staged Oscar Wilde! Why do you link my BM with his silly comedies? Yes, I stage "Salome" when I was yound, but this is another matter...

ANATOLY: But, sir, they are good. They only look silly...

MASTER: What is my name?

ANATOLY: Meyerhold, sir.

MASTER: You see? How can you agrue with Meyerhold, young man? And this naked women again? What's the matter with you?

ANATOLY: Biomechanics...

MASTER: Take it down! Right now! Do you hear me? Do you want me in your directing class?
