Bio * This page (and many other pages) is a part of the new 2001 project "Anatoly Online" -- the web-based portfolio *
2007 -- year webpages.
I'm trying to be smart, using the search results for "Anatoly Antohin" (Yahoo) 2001 (it gives all possible non-sorted links). To save myself time I would do it by categories, like Anatoly Antohin Film (new window).

Anatoly has directed many shows at UAF. He received his MFA from the Moscow Institute of Cinematography, and won several awards in drama. The the USA, he has taught and directed in many universities and colleges. In 1994 as a Fulbright scholar he was a head of the Russian American Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia.
vita. [I still made no separate resumes for directing or writing.]
Well, there is time for everything. This directory and pages are for myself, but since I do not believe in privacy in New Brave World, you can read them as well.2008 -- wl-07.txtEspecially, if you want to know why I am not updating my pages and where I am.
As in my annual self-evaluations there are three major parts in this directory: teaching, research/creative and service.
Since 1989 I teach for the University of Alaska Fairbanks and there is an administrator page, which is also belongs to service.
"Online Portfolio" is nothing less than promoting and advertizing myself. I am a product and commodity like everything else.
In one of the old articles about me (I have to scan them) the journalist said that I am a "renaisance man" (writer, director, painter) -- and this is a problem. I am a man of many interests and I have to find time for all the projects I get myself in.
I didn't paint for two years -- and I badly miss it. The webmaster took away the time.
I do not have a directory or even a page on my paintings, although in the eighties I was selling enough of them to make a living of a starving artist. Do I have to list it under special skills or interests?
The same could be said about my writing. In Moscow I was a "professional" writer (memeber of the USSR Writers, Theatre, Filmmaker's Guilds) and made good money as a freelancer. But "professional" is a dangerous notion for an artist -- and eventually it got me in trouble: I became a Soviet Writer. As a result I had to defect, and, it was a defection from myself, the one who was not me anymore.
I write, but I made no attempt to market or sell my writing. I had a strange hope that it will happen by itself. Well, I changed my mind -- I am about to help myself.
