The title. Why "PostAmeriKa"? Well, I struggled with the sense of deja vue (at first, in the eighties). I didn't understand why I do I see so many "communist" features in American mass culture. The sport, the faces of those "simple" American heroes (like in USSR, where any intellegent face would never make it to the TV screen). After the election of Clinton I had to accept it, the postmodern stage of America. What is "postmodern"? I had my own sense of it even before I read the postmodernists -- the Soviet Union experience was the most obvious (because it was primitive) form of POMO.
I suspected all the consequences of the communist environment (even if it's a soft communism, American kind). The end of real history, family and so on. Nevertheless, I thought that I am blessed (since I knew the secrets of the beast) and this "end of family" is not about my family.
I was wrong. Two years later I am still in a state of disbelief. I do not want to accept that Y2K...
So, I would be wrestling with the plot in order to tell my story. Yes, yes, a love story.
