They call them "visitors" and "surfers" -- not readers? Not actors? Not spectators?

Summer 2002: I redo my webpages only in the summer. So, I decided to get the overview of all my webgapes. Using the stage floor plan I broke the zone of my webs into nine squares -- you know, downstage, center, upstage, left, right (the table is at Virtual Theatre: GeoAlaska). Well, "stage right" (audience left) I got the theory/research directories -- one of the one is The of Book of Spectator (you see the banner on many pages). Why? First, all my instructional pages (classes) refer to this "silent majority" -- directing, acting, script and film analysis. Of course, it's only natural -- we talk about any art without this component! Second, I noticed that the structure of the Virtual Theatre book-in-process resembles the organization of the Book of Spectator! Interesting!...For very long time I hadn't link my "theory" to the rest of my pages (why confuse the students with the philosoiphy and metaphysics?) -- but my nonfiction writings, like POV, are full of refernces to the phenomena of spectatorship. And the postmodern preferences, including the POMO dictionary that you see here and there -- what is this for?
[ I do not know where to go but to "The Book of Spectator" to explore "strange" philosophy of the "wrong" subjects. ]
Okay, I say it -- of course, film is postmodern by definition. Film is the expression of the world after modernity. Film is this "new" age, when we became the spectators of our own tragedy of living...
Did I say "tragedy"?
I did.
Tragedy is not bad. Feelings are never bad for us. The lack of emotions are deadly. It's nothing short of death.
Summary: Read books on postmodernism (mostly the New French, I need to post the reading list). I will try to link my nonfiction pages back to the Film600 non-theory.
[ I made a new htmlgear -- pomo readings; "Ground Zero" by Virilio, for example, is included in this list. ]
Questions:
The terror page (new). Is it good for me? Being terrorized? Shouldn't we awake from the confort of death, known as mass culture?
Spectator of His Own Tragedy -- who was I writing about?
