Personal. I am afrad to read POV files; I know that I have to work on them, but I want the texts stay as a nonfiction. Enough "theory" which doesn't help me to think. Enough "philosophy"! Don't you see that I can't even get together the pages on film directing and analysis? And what about the 200X Aesthetics? The picture on the right... I do it wrong. I am doing wrong for so long! Maybe I try to write "right" about "wrong" subjects...

Look at the "topics bar" I place evewhere to force myself to change the way of thinking about film and writing about film. Never mind the class! The angels are simple, almost primitive, like children. Their thoughts must be visible. Angels are God's thoughts. Metaphysics? This is the place where we came from, where the physics begn. We should know our home...

If you do not believe that Leonardo or Mozart are philosophers, no need to read further....

The title of this page should be Film=Philosophy.
Film is our modern philosophy. The new form of a discource. Perhaps the main way of future communications.
This page is to help you with Philosophy aspect of film studies...
The books I read do make it to your classes and I read Heidegger "Nietzsche" (Volume I) -- I think that the Idea of the Eternal Return is fundamental for understanding film. Heidegger sees the unity of Will to Power and Eternal Recurrence and especially important is his equasion of Will and Power.
Film is the Will.
Adorno's Aesthetic Theory (finally, a new translation, 1997, University of Minnesota, Theory and History of literature, Volume 88).
I didn't have a chance to study the Frankfurt School in Russia and I'm surprised to see that Adorno's pomo marxism isn't popular.
Also, The Archetypes and The Collective Unconscious by Jung. I better study it beyond reading; too important for film studies to miss.
NB. I have to figure out what "notes" are for myself and what is for students...
