preface for After 2009

African POV ?

2006: Beckett Year! preface Mise en Scene
Oh, I did it all wrong! Instead of writing about the ghosts of stage right and spirits of stage left, demons of downstage -- I wrote all those stupid pages in "academia" style. What a fool!
No forgiveness for me.
The killers could have it at the Last Judgement Day -- not me!
I betraied the gods of theatre!
What am I talking about?
Oh, you are doing theatre and don't believe in gods?
What gods, Anatoly?
Read about the Greek gods, kids -- they all are there, on stage!
Style is everything. If I would write a novel I know that I would treat this book with much more respect. Why bother, if you don't treat it seriously? Don't be like them; they don't value reader, students, themselves...

2006. Stagematrix pages are overloaded -- and can't be used by students. I am moving my notes to this (advanced) directory, which I do not intend to use for classes. Or, maybe, only as "recommended reading"!
